Made carrot cakes with cream cheese icing today and am about to make banana cake to take to the La Leche League Books board of directors board meeting tomorrow.
I returned 40 or so books to the local library this morning.

Had to go for a Beastie Boys track today. Obvious reasons. Back in the day when TDO and I moved in together and merged our record collections (do people still say that?) there was much overlap on the Venn diagram of musical tastes but for a few exceptions and the Beastie Boys was one such. TDO was a fan and I, well, I thought they were a little too punky but the witty lyrics appealed. Especially those from the title tune.

If it seems like we don't stop between blog posts that is sometimes how it feels. Not in a prescribed over scheduled way but life with 3 small children is always going to be busy.
Since yesterday's post S, 7, finished the tiramisu she was making totally solo. A complete own effort! Only on Thursday I remarked to TDO that minus using the oven (very confident stove top) S was doing it all in the baking department. Reading the recipe, weighing, measuring and mixing (by hand and electronically,) so a recipe that required no cooking was easy for her. I came down from supervising O in the bath and found it finished! (well, the kitchen aid was wearing a smooth coat of mascapone cheese but truth be told it needing cleaning!) S is desperate for us to eat the cress she has grown this week.

After supper last night S and I went to our decorator Reg's house. He lives just down the road from us and not so long ago he and his wife were the proud owners of 7 Golden Retrievers. At the present time they only have 3. S met two of them, Midas and Wispa, and spent an hour last night stroking and fussing them. This morning she has been on a dog walk with Edmund the dalmatian for an hour or so and didn't even grumble about the cold, grey weather. It is great we have local friends who are happy to share their dogs and their time for S. If you haven't read the blog this week and need an Archer's style omnibus basically S petitioned us for a puppy this week and so we have been spending time with dogs we know in an effort to marry the perception and the reality of dog ownership.
This rainy spell has outstayed its welcome with me! Another day of water falling from the sky and it's chilly too!

Not only did I not visit the gym yesterday I also made a roast chicken supper and well, it would have been uber rude not to taste some delicious tiramisu. We don't usually have roast in the evening but we were all out of stock and as S eats risotto daily we are major consumers of stock! She made her own pea risotto for lunch today.

A wet Saturday afternoon sees the scalextric out. Guess Who ( we found a travel version of the original to go with the Scooby Doo version), movies, iplayer, cooking, drawing, painting, lego, playmobil, reading...... It is all very indoor considering the spring season!
I am wondering how O's separation anxiety is going to be. Tomorrow my plan was to gym before the board meeting and Monday night is our regular local area adults only home ed parents evening social........We'll have to see. Totally forgot to mention on the blog yesterday that TDO is off work for 9 days! Woo!

You're right about it being all very indoors considering it's Spring! I seem to remember this usually being the time of year we potter about in the garden a lot but right now everything is growing *so* fast and there's no pottering at all! The weeds are loving the rain.
To think I painted my toenails a few weeks ago and bought Cupcake some new sandals thinking we'd soon be toasting our toes! But no, we've been doing a lot of Playmobil, cooking, baking, movies etc. too.
